Orthopaedic Surgeons

Dr. William N. Beaton, M.D. F.R.C.S. (C)
Dr. Beaton graduated from the University of Calgary in 1976 and did his orthopaedic residency at the University from 1982 to 1986. In 1999 he received the Hand Surgery Fellowship from the University of California in San Francisco. He provides orthopaedic and hand surgeries at Kamloops Surgical Centre and is a member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association.

Dr. A.R. Outerbridge

Dr. Outerbridge received his Medical Degree from the University of Calgary. He completed his Residency at the University of British Columbia, and obtained his Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Pediatric Sports Medicine at Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital. He is widely known and respected for his participation over many years as a National Team Physician for Water Ski Canada. He was Chief Officer of Team Canada in 1999 for the Pan-American Games, and in 2002 he was awarded the post of Chief Medical Officer for the Commonwealth Games Team.

Dr. Derek Plausinis, MASc, MD, FRCSC

Dr. Plausinis graduated from the Queen's University of Kingston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1992; He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1994; He graduated with a Medical Doctorate from the University of Toronto in 1998; He obtained his FRCSC in Orthopaedic Surgery from the University of British Columbia in 2003 and completed a further fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at New York University Langone Medical Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases (HJD) in New York in 2004. Since that time Dr. Plausinis has been in active community practice in Kamloops at Royal Inland Hospital and the Kamloops Surgical Centre. His special interest is shoulder and elbow surgery.

Dr. Plausinis served as president of BC Orthopaedic Association 2008-2010.
